I am Shilpa Pravin Shewde from wadi, 26 years old. I am 12th grade pass. My family comprises of my husband and a 6 months old daughter. But my daughter and I live with my parents as my husband is an alcoholic and used to harass me regularly. In this situation I wanted to be economically independent as not to be burden on my parents.

Meanwhile I got to know about skill training programme conducted by AROHA by trainee. After a little investigation I decided to enroll myself.

The training had a great teaching methodology. We were taught stitching, measurements and construction of basic garments and working of sewing machine. We were trained to make blouses, kurtis, gowns petticoats etc. in easy and organized way. The timely guidance and assistance provided helped me to start up my own business and walk my way towards economic independence.

After completion of training AROHA had offered me an internship but I practiced at home and started work independently. Whenever there were difficulties AROHA faculty was ready to help me.
This great achievement would not have been possible without the scholarship provided by L&T charitable trust which cleared the way of obstacles of several needy women and induced a sense of self-confidence and made them smart personalities.
